Music

The Love.

I started learning Hindustani classical music when I was in Grade 1. From the first time I heard a khayal, I felt like it was telling me a story. Over the years, music has helped me create my own stories too. Every raga has a mood or a feeling, and I love how I can use it to express myself.

I’ve been lucky to have amazing teachers like Mr. Vivek Ghodke, Mr. Prasad Gokhale, Ms. Surabhi Gaud, and Mr. Sundaraman Iyer. They taught me that music isn’t just something you learn for exams. It’s an art, something you feel and live. I did give three music exams and got city distinction twice, but after that, I decided to stop. I wanted to learn music, not just prepare for tests.

So far, I’ve sung live in seven languages - Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, Kashmiri, and Bengali - and I listen to songs in more than 20. Music connects me to my culture and reminds me where I come from, but it makes me explore the world. It feels like a bridge between everything I know and everything I want to learn. For me, music isn’t just something I do - it’s a part of who I am.
